CASTANEA HAS BEEN ORGANIZED AND IS OPERATED TO FURTHER CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL, AND OTHER EXEMPT PURPOSES INCLUDING (I) RESEARCHING AND DEVELOPING SOLUTIONS TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT; (II) PRESERVING, PROTECTING, AND ENHANCING LAND IN ITS NATURAL, SCENIC, HISTORIC, AGRICULTURAL, FORESTED, OR OPEN-SPACE CONDITION; (III) CONSERVING AND PROTECTING ECOLOGICALLY SIGNIFICANT LANDS BY SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE LAND USE; (IV) EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ON THE BENEFITS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, CONSERVATION, AND THE PRESERVATION OF LAND AND OTHER NATURAL RESOURCES; (V) FOSTERING RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, SUPPORTING VOCATIONAL TRAINING, AND PROVIDING EMPLOYMENT TO AT-RISK WORKERS THEREBY REDUCING THE SOCIAL SERVICE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT; AND, (VI) INVESTING IN OR MAKING GRANTS TO ENTERPRISES THAT FURTHER ONE OR MORE OF THE FOREGOING TAX-EXEMPT PURPOSES.
